Thought they said they decided they wouldn't as it wasn't worth it financially to do so?

I think it would be a bigger loss it it wasn't ported to classic! there is a huge market for the software if they would just get past the bickering! :getmad:

really? you get os4 for a few old skool computers that will eventually break. a new platform on theother hand, if it was cheap enough, would be some fun

This is the latest statement done by Rogue.

The classic version just got a priority bump.
Right now, the plan is to release it as soon as possible, *hopefully* within 1Q2007, although it will depend on a few factors naturally.

They've said that in the past, but the story changes with the wind. Remember, originally OS4 was going to come out on the classic systems before the A1.

What's interesting is that several classic OS4 beta testers have said that it *is* done, several months ago. So why the hold up on release? Rogue claims it's bad driver code. Any bets that the real reason is they can't sell OS4 due to the dispute with AInc.?

other than getting mad and punching an amiga, how do they break?  btw i have punched, kicked, jigged sawed a few, and guess what? it didn't break!!

every red blooded amigan has atleast 2systems i have 4! they have all been working since like 80'something-present!  seems like a1 have more issues, but i would still get one to support my platform

I have 6 Amigas, and true they are pretty reliable... but I have to make sure I only turn them on very rarely, they simply won't last forever (nothing does), and everything you turn it on, it has less run time left.

If it comes out before winter arrives again and it has built in ip/tcp stack, web browser and mediator is supported by someone i would pay up to £50 for it. After all it would be probably a limited edition thing due to ever decrease in hardware and users of the classic ppc amiga. How much would you pay?

I would like it if you bought a dual license. classic ppc but also able to run on one of the projected boards coming out.. To have to buy it twice would be a pain..

I would really like it for my classic, but would also like to eventually get something more powerful too.

Should have been realised time ago... I`ve questioned the same thing but with no real answer/conclusion.

People owning classic AMiGAs would have payed for such s/w and the company would get some funds... Now they just holding its release, and by the time it hits the market it will be just an outdated piece of s/w.
I will surely buy a copy for my A4000, and a new platform with another OS4 copy maybe, but that`s me and maybe a few thousand amigans...

Indeed. The original contract stated an estimated release date of late 2002 if I am not mistaken and Hermans said in an interview that the CSPPC will be the first platform OS4 will be released for.

Sure, a lot of things changed and OS4 has different features than originally planned, but still it's kind of funny looking up the old ETA's. (OS5.0 2Q2000, etc.)
