Fryingpan 1.1 out!
« on: January 31, 2007, 10:31:59 PM »
hey all,
tom released version 1.1 of frying pan. grab it in the download section:

http://www.tbs-software.com/fp/

I have tested it with a nec nd-3550 ($29 @ www.tigerdirect.com )
16x dual layer burner.
I am using this burner on the Cyberstorm PPC scsi chain with a Acard ide->scsi bridge aec-7720UW
the adapters can be bought at directron on sale for $59+shipping. http://www.directron.com/aec7720uw1.html

I am using a a4000 mediator pro tower,csppc 68060/60 604e/233,128M ram,2-UWscsi 10K hard drives.
i have been using 16x dvd-r media and i have tried fryingpan 1.0a and 1.1
i get about 6x burn speed from the acard adapter(i think its rated to allow max of 8x on drives). i havent played with kicking my scsichain to synchronous or optomising it,so this may net some more speed. All i can say is the software is working great for me so far.
I intend to check it on my other amiga's
gvp030,A3640,viper520 in the A1000 (now is burning dvd's on a old A1000 cool or what!?)etc.
I highly suggest u reg this software, its worth the price and he's taking paypal etc now. and no,i dont get any kickbacks,or money for saying this.

Its been great for burning cd's. the old 1.0A didnt work with old drives, but i think 1.1 has MMC support etc. i will report back after some more testing.

I did try this with the 060 and stock a4000 ide,it burned 4.1gig to a dvd-r in about 45 mins and didnt hiccup or miss a beat..

mechy!

I like burning Video CDs using VCDGear & MakeCD3.2d beta 10. Does Frying Pan have a tool to burn movie DVDs for various region players?

How would you go about making multimedia DVDs with menus etc, what code does a DVD player run on?

:inquisitive:
