does anyone know how to run capital punishment?

hey guys, I've been trying to run this game many times(have been using whdload install script), installed cp.1.1 upgrade patch, all 7 disks from the whdload install script but when I'm trying to run the game from workbench, message shows up:
Exception "illegal instruction" ($10) at $ccd361ec occured."
I have 7 disks, c-p upgrade, yet I'm unable to run the game.
above message appears after protection screen, from workbench.
anyone could exactly say how he's exactly, installing, running this game?
because instructions to the installer from whdload site is written very unclear.

Sorry in advance, that I can't give any good information, but I've hard that this game has given some trouble.

Can it be installed to hd without whdload? I remember that CP is very hungry for chip ram, so make sure you have as much free chip as possible (not sure if whdload changes this).

There are few threads about this game here a.org, maybe you can dig some helpful info out of them too (like this http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10507)

yeah, I've read people are having trouble running this one.
game can be installed to the amiga without using whdload, and it allows you even to make a boot disk to save on memory, though the games still hangs there with a black screen, nothing loads up.
from what I know capital punishment running through whdload install script fixes few things.
hopefully somebody will post a solution here  :-)

Hello,

I used to love playing this game - back in the day I would run it from a snazzy games boot menu.

These days however, I have played it successfully using WinUAE by installing the game on a hardfile (not a virtual folder) and booting directly into the game.  A large chunk of non-fragmented chip memory is the secret to running this game, so I would recommend booting with no startup-sequence.

Try setting the NOCACHE tooltype: here it somewhat helped out.

Let the game create its boot disk then reboot with floppy in drive, but before it starts reading it keep the 2 mouse buttons pressed to bring the boot menu. From the drives page disable evrything but the partition you installed it and DF0: , then boot. It should work now.

well, the thing is that whdload installation won't allow you to make a bootdisk, also the game doesn't want to run from the non-bootable menu via whdload.
when I'm trying to run the game from workbench I have about 1,800 chip ram free(I'm running the game on my A1200 NTSC with Blizzard 1230 IV 30@50 32mb fast ram).
how can I freed some chip ram memory?
when I'm turning on the 2 color mode in wb and low res, I have 1,930 free.
instruction in whdload tells you that you need 2mb chip ram and 1,5mb of fast ram memory, but you cannot run it from floppy disk, I couldn't load it from non-bootable commands from shell.
and does anyone have idea what's this message means?:

You can only run the gane in the "Early Startup Boot Menu",
because it needs the full 2MB chip ram. It won't run if you start it from WorkBench, with or without WHDLoad.
It runs just fine then without WHDLoad.

but this is the thing, I switched to whdload because I couldn't run this game from original installation, couldn't ran it from early sequence and from boot disk, game freezes after copy protection.
and I still can't play it.

Why don't you try booting with no startup-sequence and running WHDload from the AmigaDos prompt?

the same thing happens by running it from the startup-sequence via whdload, therefore that's not memory issue.
anyone can load it up?
even if the game sucks, I would like to still give it a try.

ok, so I have cp.1.1 upgrade(cp-upgrade.lha) in my install script directory and I installed it properly, there is probably only one Capital Punishment edition(there is no such thing as Capital Punishment 1.1)
but what he means by:
" You must re-install game indeed some files needed for parental lock
                 and german language are deleted by original install script."
I guess english is not his native language so I got bit confused by his instructions.

if anyone can load it up via whdload, I'm waiting for any suggestions.
