Looking for Complete System Amiga 2000 or 4000
« on: January 09, 2007, 06:39:51 PM »
Hey all,

First time poster, I am looking for anyone that is selling a complete system really looking for an A4000 but would even buy an A1000/2000/3000.  I had an Amiga years ago and well it died and I have been looking to replace it for years and I don't wanna do the Ebay thing. So if someone has one they are willing to part with let's talk price.

Well I'm not using my A2000/030 fitted with the 3.1 ROMS required for the later Workbenches OS3.5 and OS3.9. But what is your location?

I'm just about to offer up an A4000 tower. Specs:

A4000, 2mb CHIP RAM, KS3.1
Microniks tower case
Micronics ZorroIII expander board
WarpEngine040 @ 40MHz c/w 128MB RAM (Cyberstorm 060 is only 13% faster than the WarpEngine...)
HP 2gb SCSI disk (on the Warp Engine on-board SCSI controller
C64/3D gfx card
X-Surf network card
VLAB card
Nexus SCSI-2 card with SCSI CD-RW

Tower case has 6 x 5.25" front accesible drive bays, 4 x 3.5" bays
Expander board has 7 Zorro III slots, 2 Video slots, 5 ISA slots (in line with Z3 slots)

Debating whether to add

DDS-2 DAT drive
second CD-ROM
GG2+ bridgecard (the very card reviewed by me in AUI), to access the ISA slots, plus NE2000 compatible NIC and modem.

This was being prepared for ebay - 10p listing day on Thursday - but if I get a buyer :-)

Whereabouts in the world are you?

Get the amiga you had back then if you want to run the stuff you are used to. I had an a1000 back in the day, a lot of those programs wont run on my a3000.

... I would put in a guess of New Jersey :-)
Though I may be completely wrong. I have an extra system too if other offers don't work out.

@HoodedCrow,

Too bad you didn't come to AmiWest last year.  They had about a dozen A2000's that all (or most) had working hard drives w/SCSI controllers, for $20.00 each.  I almost bought one just for spare parts and chips, but with me already owning 18 Amigas now, I could not justify the space requirement for just one more.

You might try to contact the Sacramento Amiga User Group who were selling them to see if they still have any to sell.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

Sorry but your location is too far away from me. But good luck with finding a nice system :-)
