some weird problems, lha, creating drawers...
« on: January 08, 2007, 11:42:08 PM »
hey guys,
so I've been trying to find lha unpacker for amiga, and I found lha_e38.run, and I ran it from shell(run lha_e38.run), all files have been extracted, I guess(don't know where).
I've installed capital punishment game but it doesn't work, so I downloaded cp1.1 update from official clickboom site, but the file is in lha format and it seems like all the lha files are supposed to extract, but I can't open them(any of lha files).
I also tried to make a new drawers lately but it seems amiga is blinking for a split second there and nothing happens.
can't also copy files, dragging them, I don't know why, there is a plenty of space on my hard drive(nearly 700mb), but can't copy anything or drag to other folders.
by going to my prefs, when I'm trying to change palette or anything for that matter, message appears: "requires gadgets/layout.gadget v44).
anyone have idea why is that?
well, waiting for some suggestions.

hi for lha packages you have to get lha.run copy that to c drawer then open shell go to c: then type lha.run after extraction is succesfull reboot.
to open lha extensions open shell go to drawer where lha file is and type lha x name.lha then enter and it should extract in that drawer close shell and open the drawer and it should be there.
you may have to update the drawer to see it but not always cheers.

that's exactly what I did.
I tried to do that multiple times, and I'm getting "unable to extract files or open drawer".
how do you guys copy things from your pc(if any ^_~) to your Amiga?
I'm using pcmcia memory card to transfer all the files, but for instance I just noticed while copying my mp3 file from memory card over to system, that I copied only half the file!(half of the song), and I can't copy entire files from one location to another, even from floppy disk to my system folders!
anyone knows how to fix this?
I guess that's why I cannot extract any lha archives, is because they are not copied entirely(once again, there is a plenty of space on my hdd).
also I cannot create any drawers on my system, what's up with that?
 :-?

Hi there,

You may have a corrupted version of .lha.  I once got a very mild virus called Happy New Year '86 on my hard drive from a disk which contained it.  I killed the virus with Virus Z, and everything else that contained it worked, but not .lha.  I had to get another copy from a friend.

I have .lha on a button for the left mouse button in Opus, and .unlha on the same button for the right mouse button - if you see what I mean!!!  It works fine from there.  I have used various other packers and unpackers with varying degrees of success.

I'll send you my .lha and .unlha if you like.
