Something went wrong during an installation, so now my Amiga thinks my hd is full (3 gig partition, fresh install OS3.9).
You dont need to defrag your drive, its worse than that.
The format of the drive has failed and the drive contents need validating.
If you leave your machine turned on for a while you will notice the harddrive light stays on, this is the Amiga trying to fix it.
Leave it for a while (few hours maybe on a 3gig drive)
Some things to note though, FFS does this when you turn the machine off or reset while somethings being wrote to the drive, make sure the harddrive is not doing anything before turning off.
there is a different file system called SFS which is available from Aminet which will survive the above resets without problem, you may want to back the drive up and re-partition the drive using that filesystem.
Also OS3.9 (and all pre os4 os's) only support up to 2gig partitions, programs dont like partitons above that size. Think about dropping it to 2 gig.
Enjoy
