picasso96 and corrupt pointer?
« on: May 30, 2003, 02:30:40 AM »
No matter what I do, I seem to have this weird 'box' attached to the lower right of my pointer on Workbench.  I'm using an A2000 with a CGX64/3D card, Picasso96.  I've played around with Screenmode prefs, etc. to no avail.

It used to be that if I turned off the machine, then waited a minute and turned it back on, the 'artifact' would go away but no more, it seems to continually be getting worse.

thoughts?  I'm thinking it's to do with MUI, a corrupt pointer prefs file or maybe the graphics card/P96 but not sure, can't seem to get rid of it. .. .

Hi,

try to remove the gfx card and reinsert it again.
Then remove the VideoRam and reinsert it again.

Ciao!

where in Env-Archive do you mean, and what setting did you change to fix your problem?  I need more specifics - are you talking about one of the P96 settings or something else. . ?

Did you overclock the gfx card? Check the P96's PVS (P96 Variable Setter), tooltypes (uncheck the overclock, set the memory clock at 55 MHz).

Run the "Pointer" prefs, press right-Amiga&"D" (set default pointer), and save the new setting. Then reboot and check the pointer (might be trashed-corupted the previous prefs file).

Check the hardware itself (how is it inserted? fits right to the zorro slot?)

no overclock was set, clock was already set at 55mhz, messed around with other PVS settings to no avail.

Noticed that if I used 'soft sprite' it seems to 'minimize' the problem, but then it 'smears' over the Workbench when you move the mouse.

Haven't had a chance to remove/reseat the card, will try that later this week.
