Yep! Unfortunately, in about 1993, I gave away a couple of PETs! I was working doing IT support at SmithKline Beecham (pharmaceutical company) at the time, in my first "real" job, and the labs used a few PETs right up until 1992-1993. SB was just going to dump them, so I rescued them from certain death but had to give them away as I didn't have any space to store them (plus the plastic casing had absorbed the smell of the various chemicals being used in the labs, so they really did smell bad!) As far as I know, they're still stacked at the back of an old friend's garage!
SB's system comprised of a few PETs (not sure of exact model numbers), a couple of twin 5.25" disk drives, plus some 6502-based custom-made weighing/measuring equipment that appeared to have been created in-house (both the hardware and software side of it) that was interfaced to one of the PETs for data logging/recording.
I was initially asked to take a look at the disassembled 6502 code with an eye to getting something running that could interface to different equipment, but the project was scrapped and the whole lot replaced with PCs and off-the-shelf measuring equipment.
I also inherited a PDP-11 (HUGE thing, unfortunately didn't work when powered back up), several DEC Rainbows, loads of cabling and a couple of DEC VT-320 terminals. Again, I had to give it all away due to lack of space, but it was saved from being scrapped, which was the main thing!
