Be sure to let us know when OS4 discs are available for installing on it.   ;-)

Meanwhile, do you stock anything that would allow me to connect a slim IDE DVD drive (as found most laptops/slim external drive cases) so that I can cut a slot above the 3.5" drives on my A3000, insert the DVD drive and then connect it to my Buddha IDE controller?  Cheers.

On topic :-D

Does the Efika come with a power adapter? And does the AGP adapter come with it since it's mentioned as optional?

I might just being thick asking that second one as it says "with optional AGP Slot (90 degrees)" but might as well be sure :-)

i.e. is it ready to plug a hdd in and go on arrival, without a case of course.

thanks

Andy

That is one tight little board! Great price! But seriously, (I'm not trying to be a wise guy here) why would I buy this to run Linux? And if I could buy MorphOS, why would I want that to run emulation for old Amiga apps (I suppose I would have to see the MorphOS GUI to be convinced)? Why, oh why, can't we buy AOS 4 (I know why ;-|)? Here's a couple questions; if MorphOS were ready today, could I run it on my Mac Mini? How would Aros run on this board? I was playing with Aros; does Aros have a file system? Should I buy one of these and wait to see what would run on it?

Sorry, I don't know much about MorphOS...  looks great though.

Oh I see. I have to be a PegasosPPC/ODW owner to download MorphOS. Dang. Or, be an Efika owner. So, when this new board supports MorphOS, then I can download legally? Just wondering.

This board is supplied with AGP right angled adapter.  It states 'optional' in the product text to refer to the fact that you can either use it or have the PCI slot free.

The actual motherboard is tiny - difficult to conceptualise until it is in your hand- certainly a feat of engineering.

@AmigaKit
That is a very tiny board! I can tell by the slot. What would you recommend as the best OS and apps use for this board?

Cool!

It states that other memory configurations are available. If I wanted the board with 512MB, would it come with that amount soldered on -- and at what cost? I'm assuming you can't add memory later, so you need to get what you're going to get with this board.

Still slightly bigger than one of these:

But admittedly, more interesting/exotic.

Sheesh! Did the price just jump by $100.00!
I just asked AmigaKit about buying one at the advertised price then the price suddenly jumped to $225.00! What gives?

Was advertised in $ thru the US store.
'er, I must have seen it in £ the first time....   :-(

With the $ tumbling by the hour, it will probably cost $500 by tomorrow! Grrrr.

Now given the outstanding design of this little toy I hate to complain about processor specs... But I am having a little difficulty fathoming the reason behind using a 603e core, rather than a 604e.
- Doc

A4000D, A3640 OC-36.3MHz, custom tower, Mediator A4000D. Diamond Banshee 16M, Indivision AGA 4000, GVP HC+8.

Mac Mini 1.5GHz, that might run MorphOS someday, when the fools who own it come to the realization that 30 minutes just isn\'t enough time to play with it enough to decide whether or not you like it enough to cough up $200.

 - Someone please design SOME kind of DIY accelerator for the A4000. :D -

I guess you need to ask Freescale. My guess is that no 604 core could be get to run at 1W. Also, something higher spec would run hotter (possibly requiring heatsink + fan) and be more expensive. Finally, I think 603 was the "base design" which many other processor lines forked from, while 604 was more of a dead end.

I want one! I`ll buy one!

Once there is an interesting OS (ie Morph OS) out for it. How much do I have to wait? :D

Ah good because i have spare nVidia and ATi AGP gfx cards lying around :-D

I think i might have a suitable case for it and all the other gubbins (HDD etc).

Does it come with the power supply/adapter?
