When will be something amazing for Amiga?
« on: December 10, 2006, 08:17:59 AM »
I have been reading about Pegasos and EFIKA. EFIKA is for me bad option for Amiga (Designers sorry, EFIKA is a good for Internet caffe's)
What about making something really advance because anything else will be a copy of Apple, PC, blabla... For eg. when IBM announced Cell to be in PS3 we all go WOW! Cell- The State of The ART!
I think it is time for Amiga to look up something really advanced, like it had in best times, because be my humble opinion Pegasos and Efika projects are not to bad  but won't last a long time. Something that wouldn't be just a raw power, something that will set standards like in old time!
So no linux like OS, something smarter, because Linux has a basic look of what windows brought that 1995!

Maybe Amiga like anything else (mobile phones, notebooks, pda...) will be devoured by globalization!
Personally i am sick of it all and will use Amiga 1200 until the end of my life. For 12 years i have been hoping and waiting, and I will, but I think I haven’t seen a significant progress since 1992. Copies and copies of copies!

Argh!  :horse:

There will not be anything "amazing" for the Amiga. There might be the usual trickle of overpriced and/or underspecced motherboards that may or may not run MorphOS and/or OS4, but nothing really "advanced" at all.

As others have said many times in many other threads, the Amiga market is to all intents and purposes a dead one, other than for a handful of hobbyists and therefore not commercially viable.

And if you think Linux looks like Windows in 1995, it's probably time you tried out a current distribution.

Well, the best sort of expectations when being involved in anything "new" Amiga-related is to have no expectations. That way, you won't end up disappointed...

And Ubuntu has no "Start" button!

We need something standar that all amigans can have! If it's underpowered is not important if it's cheap, it will be newer than our more than 10 years technology.

It's enough if it has a good internet browser and can watch divx, we'll do the rest :).

With new hardware for everyone, then we can develop a new software base. But first we need affordable hardware, I mean built, not only prototypes.
