Pagestream 4.x & 5.x Questions
« on: December 04, 2006, 02:00:57 PM »
Hi All,

I want to make business cards.  I downloaded a business card template for Pagestream from Aminet, but the template seems a bit off from U.S. standard sizes.  Is this because it's been done in Germany?  There is a built-in template in Pagestream 4, but its for 11 card.  The Avery business cards that I have are 2 across & 5 down, inside of a US Letter size. It says it's a template size "8371".  Is there a way to get the PS4 built in template replicated 2 across & 5 down?

Has anyone else out here downloaded & tried to install the beta version of PS 5.0?  Every time I try to install it, when it gets to the point of asking me to fill in my name for the registration, it always crashes my system.  It also looks as if it's using MUI.  Is this new version using MUI?  I hope they get that crash bug dealt with.  I paid for the update almost as soon as one could, I think maybe at least 2 years ago...or was it 3??

European cards are based on centimeters and therefore won't work with American-style cardstock.

It should be possible to make a template with minimal difficulty since you know the measurements relative to an 8 1/2" by 11" sheet.  Just make a grid with horizontal granularity of 4" and vertical granularity of 2".  Use snap to grid when you do the layout and then use cut-and-paste to copy the first card to the additional spaces.

Don't ask me for the specific menus for these options since I'm thinking of how it was done on PageStream 2.2 before the source-base was redone in C++.  I do have PageStream 4 but don't use it much due to problems I've had with my MicroA1-c.
