Some things become more clear... so stopthegop is misteramiga on eBay?

Don't you think this would look strange to you if the situation were reversed? I've not hung out on Amiga.org in so long that I had to register again. You guys are playing it a bit sneaky, aren't you? Why -wouldn't- that make me nervous?

As I said to you in a private email, if BidPay will let you pay for the auction, then I'll ship to the mailing address you registered with BidPay.

There's nothing fishy going on here, I can guarentee it.
I know how badly Keropi needs this card since his last card died.
Have alot bought stuff from Keropi privately, the least you can say about him is that you can trusy him  ;-)

it went to a guy with zero feedback. I fancy the seller will have some serious heart attacks following weeks :)

What's wrong with zero feedback? I've bought/sold dozens of things from/to private persons on lots of sites all over the Internet, but never on Ebay. Does that make me a bad buyer if I buy just one thing on Ebay ever? I rather despise that top seller arrogance: "I've sold and bought hundreds of things on Ebay, and you haven't sold/bought anything before, so you are not trustworthy.."
Bah..
< /offtopic >

Zerofeedback always has the possibility of a scammer coming back for more. Especially if you're buying an item > $500 as your first buy, it'll make me really nervous if I were the seller.

ahahaha so it was keropi buying it with a US account :) what can I say, I'm deadly jealous of the guy since he buys everything I want to buy and he's never short of money :) He also got the goldengate 486 ! (Also he's Greek and I'm Turkish so that's another reason to badmouth him :)) But no, though I've never dealt with the guy I know for sure that he won't be ripping you off, I've never seen someone complaining after dealing with him since I've started visiting these boards (you can also check his real ebay user feedback). Feel safe to deal with him, though I'ld rather you sell the board to me for half the auction price for goodness sake :)

I can personally vouch since I bought Keropi's blizzardPPC when he sold it here earlier this year. He's is a well respected member of this site and I wouldn't hesitate for a second doing business with him again.

Hey Polymorph, welcome back.
Long years no chat. I still have one of your Amiga coffe mugs sent along with one of our transactions years ago. :-) Don't ask what we bartered for, can't recall. Probably some hardware related to audio or video.

As a long time ebayer/paypaler, I have to agree with your shipping cautions. To qualify for fraud protections, you must ship with signed confirmation the the verified address at paypal or bidpay. To ship to a different address other than the confirmed one is inviting trouble.

So are you returning to amiga.org for a stay or just for inventory liquidation?

It depends. I was once scammed looong ago by some one with zero feedback. Lost $75US (I've since learned precautions) On the other hand I've sold $800 worth of equiptment recently to two other people with zero feedback with out incident. Don't take it personally. The seller is just naturally going to take some precautious when you don't have a rating with all the ebay horror stories that exist.

It's not to say you can't get burned by some one with a 200+ rating, but the risk seems much lower in that case.

@Polymorph

keropi is a honest guy (and serious amiga user), known both here in amiga.org and to our Greek community. I seriously doubt he'll give you any trouble, I'm sure this transaction will work out great between you.
Anyway is the only way

keropi is a standup guy. I've bought stuff from him without any problems at all. He's that nice he even upgraded the shipping from standard to express so I would receive the equipment sooner. I didn't ask, he just did it because he could/is like that.

Yeah, there were some crossed wires, but we Amigans are an impatient and passionate bunch. And these cards are highly desirable...

You will have a smooth transaction.

I sold a scandoubler to keropi just now, and he paid the same day, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Thank you all for your support and kind words,  :-D  I finally managed today to pay polymorph through bidpay...
though he is right to be cautious, it just doesn't feel right if you are honest, but that's the way it is...
as a sidenote, bidpay is not as convenient as paypal, nor it pays instantly...

BidPay rejected it. As for you being honest, -I- don't know that. How would I? My first contact with you is having you trick a bid on my auction that was restricted to USA only, and having funny little things pop up to make me suspicious.

And as I said in the auction, No PayPal.

Hi, Plaz! Yep, I don't remember what it was either.

I just saw your news article about the Amiga Atlanta website being back up. I archived the Nasa/JPL articles on the UPCHUG website, hope you don't mind.

I came back here to check up on that guy's story. This has been a nightmare.

@ polymorph & keropi

Guys, just a cautionary note having read the entire thread.

There have been some comments posted that *may* be taken in a different way to that in which they were intended; i.e. the 'tone' could be misinterpreted.

Polymorph - keropi can be trusted. He is a 'stand-up' guy, and will pay you. Without Paypal though, it might take a bit of time. Please bear in mind that PPC accelerators are highly desirable, and he wanted to get his sticky mitts on it before someone else used BIN. Ok, he couldn't wait 8 hours or so for a response, but in those 8 hours, someone else might have acquired it through BIN.

Keropi - Polymorph has every right to be suspicious, after all he doesn't actually know you, and if you put yourself in his shoes, you will see why he is nervous that someone used a little subterfuge (which is what it really is) to buy it. Would you feel 100% confident of a 0 feedback buyer in such a case, especially so when the person buying it has tried to buy through a 3rd party... and despite all of us on here knowing you are a decent bloke, its not actually a /guarantee/ insofar as polymorph is concerned. I know you trusted me a few months ago, but not everyone is as trusting as you.

Just a [hopefully unneccessary] cautionary tuppence worth.

ofcourse Bidpay rejected it WITHOUT any explanation, thus proving it is a far inferior system than paypal where all is instant, but on bidpay u need to wait a working day.
I use the same CC like on paypal where I have a VERIFIED SELLER account, but noooo bidpay thinks different. maybe because it is targeted to America only, I don't care.
anyway I have emailed them requesting to know why.
if that fails, then it is western union / moneygram.
