Microway FlickerFixer AGA 2000
« on: November 27, 2006, 05:48:08 PM »
Hi there,

Has anyone used a Microway FlickerFixer AGA 2000 in an Amiga 2000 before? Is it worth adding to the Amiga or is it a waste of money?

I'm asking because there are other flicker fixer solutions for adding a VGA monitor to the A2000.

I still use one, they're really handy. you do generally need a cable to convert the output so you can connect a modern monitor though.

@Fester

IMHO, Microway FlickerFixer AGA 2000 card is well worth the effort.  I have been using one in my A2000HD for years.  Purchased it as a used board, worked fine right from the start.  Mine is in the video slot.

I, too, use one with a GVP Spectrum card. It has sevred me well for years (maybe 5 or 6?) without a hitch.
A2000 GVP 40MHz \'030, 21Mb RAM SD/FF, 2 floppies, internal CD-ROM drive, micromys v3 w/laser mouse
A1000 Microbotics Starboard II w/2Mb 1080, & external floppy (AIRdrive)

I have one and it works fine, although you have to use a DB9-DB15 converter, but that should be cheap enough (I think I paid $5 or something like that). The only drawback is that the card only supports either NTSC or PAL but not both, which kinda sucks if you want to run PAL games.
