I guess there are some people out there who think an old Amiga is the same as an old PC and they just throw them away.  I guess they're just not aware that Amigas have value.  Though its hard to imagine someone who owns an Amiga not knowing that.

@T3000&Everyone

It was a little over a year in the making..to be honest.  Not sure where I saw the  ad..but..I called the guy..and he was about 45mins from me..How lucky is that..
Trouble was that he didnt want to ship the gods to anyone..so I guess thats why he didnt sell it..Well anyway after chatting many times on trying to schedule a pickup.  He stopped responding to emails/phone calls..
Then one day about just recently..I get a call at work.  Its this guy with the 4000T Toaster/Flyer that I spoke to a little over a year ago..WOW..Im like
Sweet..and he just wanted it gone so he said its mine if I want it otherwise
he was going to chuck it..so I left work early and drove down and picked it
up.  Keyboard, mouse, systems disks and manuals ..plus a Drive-in tower
and another card that he said allowed you to connect to a PC???
Well it says TRUEVISION on the card..not really sure what that is.

Oh and he also found some ToasterClub cds a few days later and he
shipped those to me.   Bottom line he told me he wanted the Amiga to
go to a good home and that I should keep him posted as to how she is
working and what Im doing with it...mmmm..the possibilies are endless

@stopthegop..

Well I have to say that this guy new what he had.  He also took great care of the machine, Very clean and dust free.  Front bezel is great as well as the door.
He used it to make a living..He also knows that the Amiga is not just some PC.
The above post by me should explain..

Take care and thanks for the post..

Thank you everyone..for your responses.  Worth more to me than money..but
your prob. correct in that estimation.
I will attempt to teach myself the ins/outs of the toaster/flyer..be creative and have fun..those are the plans so far..perhaps play with Lightwave..
I have another 4000T 060(Im the orig. owner)..bought from Anit-Gravity, remember those guys..Took forever to get and cost me like $2700 I still have the orig. reciept.
Can I link the two Towers togther for any advantage useing the Toaster/Flyer setup..
Oh and what is this TRUEVISION card??

Anyone, Anyone....

Take care
Rich

There is an archive called FTS on Aminet. This was written specifically to network Amigas as I understand it.  Supposedly very fast, too.  I have not tried it yet (TCP/IP does the job just fine).  But I always kinda wanted to check it out to see how fast it actually is.  I have two A4K myself plus a 1200 and 500, and I also live in NY.  Maybe we could start an Amiga vpn..  :)

If you get yourself another Toaster and Flyer card and place it in the other A4000 you have you can use the Toasters Built in "Screemernet" to render faster frames for animation. Other then that there really is no benefit of linking the two Amigas together.

This is the info I found on the Truevision board you talk about HERE
Amiga 2000HD Indivision ECS
Amiga 4000D towerised OS 3.1 and 3.9 on CF cards
Indivision AGA, Mediator 4000
Video Toaster 4000 Flyer v4.3 Millenium.
202gig of video drive space & 5gig audio.

Im sure there are others like mine..but for me I would have to agree with you!!
Oh and the guy just sent me some "FrameFactory" CDs..
Do people feel this way about thir Apples..or PCs.?  I doubt it.
If this was a PC the guy would have chucked it in the garbage a long time
ago.
