Here is a thought..maybe not a new one..but....
« on: November 24, 2006, 01:03:54 AM »
I've been an Amiga fan since the early '80s well since before A1000 came out.   I remember reading about it in the Commodore mags I used to buy..mmmm..well.. On to the point..of this Post.  I think Nintendo should buy/team up with Amiga Inc. or whatever is left..of it..  Together they could make the ultimate gamiing machine..with a pretty nice OS..to boot!!!...

I know Im dreaming..Right??

Or is this a stupid idea??
They seem like they would be a great fit..atleast to me ..

Well you heard it first?...
Take care all

Well there is a theory that Amiga Inc. has been doings deals with Nintendo. Possibly with regards to the Wii's emulation service.

Who knows, either classic Amiga games will be on Wii or AmigaOS itself. I suspect it'll be the former though.

Well, here a thought.... maybe this is really a new one ... but...

Maybe we should have donuts growing on a tree  :-D
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

AI has nothing to offer Nintendo to get them to partner with them for anything.

leirbag28,

Im in Upstate NY about an hour north of NYC..in the HudsonValley.
Where in NY are you and what sort of Amiga gear do you have...

Take care..
Rich

And I think AI has quite a bit to offer Nintendo. It would be a good match.

23. "Since it appears there are more people who know about Amigas from back in the 80s/90s than from more recent events, Amiga, Inc. should be aware of the recent resurgeance in 'retro gaming', particularly in the big ecomonies of the US and Europe and therefore big dollar bills associated with this genre, as an example; Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo together with all the major software houses are falling over themselves to re-write 80/90's games or produce retro collections (just look at the PSP's line up!)

Essentially, since you guys have one of the most sought after intangibles assets around, namely a HUGE brand, is it time to cash in, either by selling the Amiga brand to say, Commodore or partnering with another forward thinking organisation or individual, like the MiniMig creator; in a hardware sense. Maybe ala the C64 Joystick. Does Amiga, Inc. have plans to capitalize on this large and growing market?"

Bill McEwen -- Yes, Amiga actually entered into a contract in 2005 with a firm to develop some products based on the Amiga classic technologies and we are looking forward to seeing those products. We have also been in discussions with the creator of the MiniMig, but he decided to go another direction.

We are working on a product that would allow the retro games to be played on various devices, and I hope that we will have some more concrete timing on that product very soon.
