What about saying "Fat Free", and then admitting that the product contains fat, but you aren't passing the cost of said fat on to the consumer.  :-D

I's sure somebody has probably tried this already

Maybe they are trying to tell us that all this time we have been cooking, boiling and frying something else.. not eggs...just some other fake substitute.

They on the other hand are giving you the real eggs. TeH 0n3 True E66 !! Their boxes really do contain funny shaped "Chicken Erse Refugees"!

What really got me a while back was a chocolate bar I grabbed on the way to work (mmm.. coke and a chocolate, the ultimate breakfast). Can't remember what it was, either a Topic or Fruit and Nut.
Looking on the back of the label, it said "Allergy advice: May contain nuts"..
WTF do they mean "May".. I bought it cos it was supposed to have f###ing nuts in it, didnt know the damn things were an optional suprise.

And then there's a sticker on my new soldering iron.. "Warning this equipment gets hot"..well, DUH! (says the guy who's twice dropped the thing and caught it by the wrong end) :boohoo:

BTW, that 'Free from foods' sign, was it just above the Pot Noodles by any chance?
On schedule, and suing

It's irritating isn't it?  These statements of the bleedin' obvious are to prevent the Chav fraternity from buying a bag of nuts, having an allergic reaction and then suing the manufacturer because there was no warning on the label.  Proof if any were needed that the society we live in is litigation crazy, a dumbass injury is tantamount to a lottery win for the cerebrally challenged.

My bugbear is those poncey shampoos which list "Aqua" and "Parfum" amongst the ingredients...  Why can't they just say "Water" and "stuff what smells nice"?

Speaking of water...  Sioux bought a bottle of Volvic a couple of days ago.  Being bored, she read the label:

What's so special about the bottle?  Will it contaminate other water? :-P

So why does mineral water, filtered through rock for thousands of years before you buy it have a bloody sell by date....?

[Mr Logic]
It has a "Best Before" date.  This indicates that the water will be in the best state to drink before the date in question, as opposed to a "Sell By" date which indicates that the water must not be sold after the date specified.

@PMC

Because of course, the day after the sell by date the water becomes deadly!

I'm suddenly reminded of that Only Fools & Horses episode where Rodney & Del make a fortune selling "Peckham Spring" mineral water...

Actually, there's a good reason for that.  It's to identify when it was bottled and can help in identifying batches of the supply.

If anything gets contaminated they can say to the public to return bottles with a certain sell/use by date on them.

I just want to know why the bottle is to be used exclusively for Volvic.  With all the talk of the environment, shouldn't we be allowed to re-use the bottles :-P
