Friday be special for two reasons:

a) Whabang's VERY long tradition of marking the beginnings of a new weekend. Missed it during these years I was away :)

b) In our common parlance, in this sunburnt land downunder, Friday five o' clock (in the afternoon) is also known as beer o' clock :-D

My new job involves a 3 hour (in total) daily commute.

FRIIIIIDAAAY is awesome. I can stay up late (though I am half asleep already) watch a movie, do a spot of coding and not worry about the fact I have to get up again to make that same irritating journey.

I love Fridays, 'cos every second Friday I have the day off. Thank god for 3 day weekends, even if it costs 10 percent of my wages :D.

Ahh... It's been so long since I've had to work I'd actually forgotten that FRIIIIIDAAAY! for most folk was the end of a hard working week... :)

Although cos I used to mainly get paid on a Thursday my working week usually ended there, straight to the boozer after work until the last bell, so Fridays were generally a sicky day for me at work... :)

(Often wondered why I never got sacked... :))

As others have mentioned, it's about freedom. The freedom of sleeping the entire morning the day after drinking until your head shatters. :pint:
Not to mention, the freedom of not having to go to work for two days, and the freedom of walking around in your apartment with nothing but your socks on.

I sort of miss that weekly celebration a wee bit, though being Tee Total now for nearly seven years if I ever had to go back to work I'd need to practise drinking again first... :)

The socks thing becomes an everyday occurrence when you retire... :)

You know, I don't even miss alcohol one wee bit anymore, it does lead to some very interesting observations though on how folk change when your sitting in the pub with friends and watching them get totally peed as the night wears on... :)

(reckon Bloodline does that already... :lol:)

FRIIIIIIDAY! Lunch with former colleagues tomoroday, absolutely nothing Friday evening and Saturday and Sunday a 16km hike. Aaaah...nothing like the weekend.

Also. That picture is disturbing. A sockheaphumanheadmonster-thingy...I'm sure there's a corny horror film about that!
