AmiCom fonts and SMBFS
« on: October 27, 2006, 03:56:05 PM »
Hi all,

If anyones read this post, then I'd like to let you know that the first part of this post was rather pointless. I've just realised why my copy of Amicom seemed to moan about fonts, and its to do with it getting mixed up with a older version of Amicom from a coverdisk - Long story....

Secondly,
Also, I use SMBFS (The latest version from AmiNet) with AmiTCP on WB3.0 on a A1200 , and with CardPatch and CardReset installed, SMBFS appears to be particually unreliable (No offence intended to the author of SMBFS).
The main two problems seem to be unreliable connecting to other PC's which ususally results in a reboot of the Amiga, despite the connection being checked by pinging the other PC beforehand. Each time, the details entered into SMBFS have been checked and checked again and are correct.
Furthermore, disconnecting from another PC via the break command always results in a software failure, and use of Ctrl-C almost always results in a software failure.
Maybe someone could shed some light on the problem?

Thanks,
Hodgkinson.
Main A1200D: WB3.0, 3.1 ROMs, 2GB HDD, Blizzard 1230IV (64MB RAM + FPU) and a whole load of custom heatsinks... :flame:

Increase the stack size before you run SMBFS. The standard of 4000 bytes is not enough for SMBFS, it needs 40000 or 100000 bytes.
