A happy little story once again :)
« on: October 25, 2006, 05:33:59 PM »
Ok. I installed kubuntu a while ago.
Then I installed java.
Then I installed eclipse.
Eclipse f**ked up the kubuntu installation beyond repair
because it needs it's own java.
I have a deadline.
So I installed Windows.
While trying to change a drive letter it crashes.
It crashes when I try to log in in safe mode
It crashes when I try to log in in 'dos mode'
(wich happens to be safe mode with a cli autostarting)
I tried to recover the old working status.
Wich does nothing at all.
Then I try to repair it with the xp cd.
the automatic system repair utility asks for a diskette.
My laptop does not have a disk drive.
Then I click it away and further on, the installation
detects a windows is installed. I choose the option
repair the windows installation. After two hours installing dll's, the system reboots and crashes. The install utility gives me also the option to repair things using a cli (without windows). Wich I use. Trying to save at least my documents to my external hdd, the cli states 'acces denied'.
And I cannot use an linux live cd for that because ntfs is only readable (because of copyright sh*t). Well, I got still a rusty p200 laptop with win98 wich actually does work, so at least I can read my mail. One of these mails is a negative response to my applyment for a term of probation.
I need to print out other applyments on a printer but the printer doesn't work on my p200 laptop (drivers are xp only). And I had an appointment with someone who didn't show up. And.. and...

I.... I.... I....

am.....

Well, I got it up and running again, just completely reinstalled windows. It didn't dispose of my files so I can work again from where I was :-)

I might upgrade my work box to FC6. At least that seems to have a working XGL :-)
