I've been using DBLPAL 640x512 during 2 years and the mouse never disappeared, screen scrollings were perfect...

It was SLOW but usable (from my point of view).
(FBlit and BlazeWCP help a lot ;))

The choice between a scandoubler/gfx card and VGA adaptator (for dblpal/ntsc) really depends on your money and what you want to do with it...

Leo.

Multiscan productivity seems fine over here - but much more than 32 colours and it gets sloooooow.... :-(

That's on a "real" multiscan monitor, which is great if you can find one cheaply.

Hi, guys!

On this subject, I just got a DCE Scan Magic deinterlacer for my desktop A1200 - yesterday as a matter of fact - and so far am loving it!  This is the model that plugs right on top of the motherboard, and since my case was already missing all of it's screws installation only took about 5 minutes.  I am now enjoying flicker-free viewing on one of my old PC monitors in all screen modes, NTSC and PAL, including the early startup control menu.  I ordered it from Software Hut here in the US for a total of $137.45 (incl. shipping), but better hurry - I think they mentioned only having one more left!    :-o

Now all that's left to do is buy that 19" monitor I've been looking at...   8-)

@Carls

Well, I can only speak from my own experience, and it happened to me. I did not use MonEd, but I did try to overscan the mode to be as big as I could get it and the mouse pointer disappeared on the far left of the screen.

I guess FBlit would help, but it's still horrendously slow. But perhaps I am just spoiled with my gfx card now. :-)

Hey, I pad $120 NZD for an 040@40mhz a1200 accelerator, and an Eyetech Scan doubler flicker fixer, and some other bits and pieces. :) Deal of the century or what?? :)

Yes after hours of soldering. I hate soldering sub-d.

So it worked quite well, but when I gave away the monitor the guy wanted to use it on a pc and had to solder it back to 15pin vga...  :-D

Later I got an adapter for that, but be sure to avoid getting one made of silver plastic without screws to fix it, like i did...

i dont suppose you still have the wiring config thing? that would be most handy as a temp solution.

No, this was 8 years ago, i think...
Maybe this is the thing:

http://wuarchive.wustl.edu/~aminet/hard/hack/VGA_Hack.lha

otherwise get the pin descriptions of both vga and amiga rgb and connect the analog rgb's and sync's...

Btw you should then use the vgaonly driver, there are also some vga monitor drivers in aminet/hard/drivr

Erm, hey people
I'm kinda hijacking this thread to post a Q of my own, it's related to this see....
I've been using a new screenmode I got off aminet (http://ftp.plig.org/pub/aminet/util/wb/HighGFX40r4P1.lha) on my A1200 and it works beautifully, so big and colourful....
Problem is it flickers. I have an Eyetech EZ-VGA, but that only flicker-fixes the standard PAL modes, not any mode thats pumped out. Does anyone know of a flicker-fixer that will fix the signal no matter what frequency it's at?? And if so where I can get one?
Thanks for any help  :-)
