.It is usually foolish for a business to bash the competition;more effective to promote the stuff you have for sale now and announce products which are in early production.

Very true, but this is the Amiga market. We're special  :-P

Nope, thats just his usual self ......

Seems to be the other Amiga-curse, talent always comes in such high doses that there no room for a personality left  :-(
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

As much as I like to refrain from any non-technical discussions, I have to agree with you.

Just wanted to clarify that Jens said the ColdFusion is not going to come out as long as Coldfire CPUs are being produced. So, not "never" :D.

I saw that, good stuff. :-)

I have most of the show and Carl's post banquet interview recorded. I'm working with intuitionbase.com to see if we can get the video hosted there since they sponsored the original feed. I was totally glued to Carl's chat. The guy's a walking "untold" history book on OS dev and IT.

I have the Jens' and Carl's keynote addresses captured on Digital 8 tape with my camcorder.

Hi Dennis,

Hope work on Minimig continues to go well.  As one who attended the AmiWest show and saw Jens presentation in person, I was disappointed he did not speak more about his own work, instead of blasting Troika, but Troika does have some explaining to do.  Jens replacement of the Amiga custom chips with FGPA is interesting (as is your project) and I hope both will lead to great things for the Amiga Classic preservation and hopefully enhancement in the future.

Thanks again for the inspiration you have brought to the Amiga community and other hardware/software hackers.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

Jens just spent 15 minutes or so roasting both projects. He predicted ColdFusion will NEVER ship and Troika is a sad affair and Amy will never work.    You guys listen to that? He didn't even mention his own product, just blasted these 2 projects

Yep, I did listen.
He has had a go at me at every available time since I announced the project, saying the first photo's were fakes, etc.
I was going to do a post on the AmiCF forum about the things that were wrong in that little talk but TBH I can be bothered, he knows my plans, I answered his questions at the BB4. :-/

I believe he has has a few digs at Troika before too. :-/

Anyway I'm glad so many people got a laugh from it. :-(

You sure it isnt reverse psychology? Perhaps he thinks you will go "Hmm I'm going to prove that SOB wrong!" and do some more work on the project?

BTW: What has happened to the cdtv site? It appears to have been turned into a webshop.

I doubt it, I think its just the way he is. :-)

Yep, Im having some major problems with oneandone at the moment, I think they are choking my websites bandwidth, I have had to take the CDTV website and CF website down, I also need to do some editing on it to remove my e-mail address as I am currently getting 95+ spam e-mails a day, and thats after a server side filter. :-/

Im looking at a new hosting company now and once my only shop is working right then I will reupload the CDTV website.

I wasn't having a laugh at you personally, please dont take it that way. Please do post a response here.

I explained it elsewhere as one of those uncomfortable laughs.
