A3000 Install Disk?

Hello all,

My Amiga 3000 Install Disk went bad.  Does anyone out there have a dms image their A3000 install floppy?  I would be super grateful if anyone could help me out.

Mine has the old original roms where you have to load the kickstart's (2.x and 1.3) from floppy.  I have the kickstart floppy but the install disk went bad on me.  I want to wipe it out and restore it to a clean new system install.

;-) Oh, you mean Kickstart disks!  Mine was like that too.  I never had a floppy copy of the kickstart file, it was stored on the hard drive at wb_2.x:Devs/kickstart, or something similar.  Look on your hard drive for the file, and copy it to another floppy.  That should do the trick.

:roll: That machine gave me quite a start when I first got it.  One of the first things I did was to rename the boot partition to something more "sensible," DH0:

:-o Unfortunately, the on-board chips couldn't find the kickstart file to boot from.  Booting from floppy to fix it didn't work either, as the floppy also didn't have the kickstart data.
:idea:I was able to correct the situation by temporarily moving the hard disk to another Amiga, and renaming it there.  Since then, I've added real 3.1 ROM chips, so my A3000 no longer has that trouble.  You might want to consider that option, too.

The A3000 should also able to load the kickstart from a superkickstart disk.

Oh well, not much use to you since you already have it working. :-)
