back in business!
« on: October 16, 2006, 10:20:27 PM »
Hello everyone ;)

Been lurking around for a while before making this post. Im not entirely new to the Amiga scene, having bought my first one (a500) in 1990. However, I switched (from my 1200/ppc tower) to pc around 1999 for various reasons, and my whole commodore collection started collecting dust.. :|

Now that I've moved to a bigger house in Amsterdam, I finally have the time and space to have another look.. So far I have sold various c64's and an a500+, and still have some other things for sale. I have decided to keep my a500, 4040 and a1200t, but I need a new powerpc (240mhz,060) board since the old one blew up. I also have the 3 'general' c64 models, a plus/4, c16, c128d and various consoles. As you may understand, I kindly refused an a3000 and a2000, due to lack of space.. :|

For what its worth, I dont 'believe' in amigaone, os4 or anything like that. For me Amiga = 68k/ppc. I have a very fast pc for all the regular things I need to do and I dont think the Amiga (as we know it) will ever have the future it deserved, due to various reasons.

My main interests for the Amiga are:

-general workbench usage (COZ IT IS TEH FUN!!!!!11)
-IRC
-demoscene
-protracker
-gaming

Thats about it!
Amiga 1200 (1d4) Kickstart 3.1 (40.68), Elbox Power/Winner tower (450w psu), BlizzardPPC 603e+ @240mhz & 060 @50mhz, 256MB, Bvision, IDE-fix Express, IndivisionAGA, 120GB IDE, cd, dvd, Cocolino, Micronik Keycase, PCMCIA Ethernet, Ratte monitor switcher, Prelude1200, triple boot WB3.1 / OS3.9 / OS4.1, Win95 / MacOS8.1

AmigaOne is PPC.
Religion is for people who believe in hell.
Spirituality is for people who have been there.

Not ALL of them, I see you're missing the A1000 :-D (but if you want one, I probably can help you there pretty soon :-) )

Thanks all ;)

No Im afraid I wont make it to Maarssen this weekend, though Ive been there a few years ago and had a great time :) I will be there some other time, promised.

About AmigaOne, ofcourse I meant classic Amiga expanded with a 603/604 board, no new hardware for me. Not even mediator or anything like that.

Of all Amiga's mentioned, the only one Im still looking for is a nice expanded a600, to use in the living room.

Last, Tahoe, where do you live in Amsterdam? And uhm, when will you be picking up the a1200 cases you wanted?  :madashell:

hi and welcome back to the fold.

if your old ppc has blown up then why not send it to
the  amiga centre in france to see if they can fix it :-)
as they dont charge for inspection.

because I hadnt heard of it until a few months ago.. and I already sold the broken board to someone who probably has a working one by now :)

nah, I doubt they were able to fix it, a lot of pins were broken..

I once owned a Commodore C-128 D as well before I bought my first Amiga. It looked a little bit like the Amiga 1000 that was released almost at the same time. ... ahh, this brings back memories ...

Are these computers still in good shape and do you still use them?
