How do I make toolbar buttons for DirOpus5?...
« on: May 16, 2003, 01:46:56 PM »
Hmm... So far I've been using premade buttons which I got from the Aminet... Nice, but Now I thought to my self... Why not make some of your own?

It started out fine an I spotted that the buttons actually is small anim-brushes, so I made a couple of anim-brushes and tried to use them as buttons in my toolbar... Only the first frame is displayed, uppon mouse-click it does nothing :-?

I've tried both DPaint and PPaint for saving the anim-brushes but still nothing happens...

Then I saw Mason's homepage and he'd made some Icons, Buttons and images for DOpus... But All his buttons are split in 2 small pics... So how do I get all this stuff work...

Are there any hidden functions in DOpus that I don't know of?:-)...

Just to sum up:
How do I make my own toolbar buttons?

Cheers...

-LP

Hint: Please have a look at the "icons" drawer in the "image" directory of my contribution... ;-)

Just so name it: Using icons will be the easiest way to get a animated toolbar image.

The only a exception is the "toolbararrow.image". Here you will need an animbrush.

Hope this will help!

I've already spotted those but the only thing DOpus shows up with in the listertoolbar is a 4-color icon of a tool (don't know the name in english, but it's the one you made as tool icon)...

The toolbararrow.image is the only button that works :-)

I've enabled the NewIcons setting in "Environment/IconDisplay" It shows other NewIcons nice enough :-?

Can I ask what program you've done the toolbararrow.image in?

btw, thanks for the quick reply, apriciate it!

Which version of AmigaOs do you use?

The icons are ColorIcons (OS3.5+).
Looks like this is the problem...

If you already use OS 3.5 (or higher) you have to update DOpus to the latest version. The patch is available the GP Software homepage and adds the ColorIcon support.
