Drat! Not having PayPal sucks when stuff like this shows up. I'd bid on the X-Surf and Cybervision otherwise.

If you don't get bids (HA!) do I get dibs on them?

@Amiduffer
Why can't you register a PayPal account? Or use a friend's? Or negotiate an alternative method of payment? If you really want it, I'm sure you will find a way :-)

@motorollin

Because setting up a PayPal account is one of those things akin to laying down heavy concrete. It's tedious and rough. Once you have any type of problems it's almost impossible to get around to the customer service. At times they tend to be compliant at best, not much afford that. Unfortunatly thats one of the few standard ways many people will be able to get direct access to funs, hence your stuff ships faster. It's a two headed dragon that you have to stare at all four eyes to make sure you don't get bit.

@pleopod

You astonished at the bids. I rather say those are pretty lukewarm bids. It's probably going to turn in to a free-for-all during the last day of bidding. For the price I've seen some of those go for, I could buy me a nice modern video card, a fast u320 or SATA drive, and the most expensive memory for my computer, and still have money left over. Even a new computer!

I don't get the difficulty with setting up a Paypal account.

You don't need to connect it to your bank account anymore, you can just use a credit card through it.

A few sellers prefer verified contact/address and that's easy enough to organise, at least in North America.  A confirmed bank account isn't necessary, but I guess there are still some sellers that might like that.

As for the bidding on the Cyberstorm, I'm not exactly a seasoned eBay-er, but there's no way I'm bidding on that until the last day, bidding now is pretty pointless.  I expect the price will rocket up to some very high level within the last hour though.

I defaulted on my credit card, and have icky credit. None of my friends are in great shape either.

All I have is personal checks, or sending a money order as a means of paying. :-)

look guys it cool to have this ebay alert thing, but do we have to alert EVERYBODY everytime there is something cool on eBay, I think it drives the prices up!  If you are in the market for amiga gear look on ebay and amibench to start, no need to let the whole world know, thats what makes ebay cool.. you might find a gem that everybody else overlooked.
