AROS woes...
« on: May 15, 2003, 08:32:49 PM »
I know that AROS might be nowhere near the featurelists of OS4 and MorphOS, but I've recently heard a few comments about it - AHI support, nice WB, newicons etc.

I downloaded a CD image a month or so ago but it didn't work.  Today I got the three floppy images for the latest snapshot.  It boots into a shell fine, and I got it loading minesweeper - a great technical achievement for the AROS team.  But where are all the nice features?  For instance, the Workbench (0.01 Alpha or something) doesn't even have any icons on it!  Do I need the CD version for all the new stuff?

I guess so: last time I checked the CD version (about a month ago), it had some kind of glowicons...

you should boot straight into the workbench clone, but some images from time to time seems to not have it (didn't fit on the floppy?), try the next or previous days snapshot.
Slightly bored and severly confused..
