Hello
« on: September 07, 2006, 05:33:59 PM »
Hello eveyone. I've recently started to use my amiga again after a few years break. I used to by a lot of amiga hardware and software up until about 2000 when cu amiga finished. I didn't have the internet so kinda lost touch.
I have been trying to catch up on what i've missed, and i'm thinking of getting the shark ppc board and pci board from elbox. to bring my hardware back up to date.
I have a A1200 Micronik Tower with an apollo 1260 with 32mb ram and a 800mb hd and cd drive. Running os 3.5.
What hardware should i get to bring me to a current spec system?
what new games and productive software have i missed?
i've heard about the amigaone but also read there no longer being made.

Welcome back!

For classic Amiga, there's not really a "current spec" system, it mostly depends on what you want yourself. For the A1200, the fastest turboboards are with a PPC processor, but your Apollo 1260 sure as hell is not bad at all.
If I had a system like yours, my main priority would be a bigger harddisk and maybe OS 3.9

Swansea. I've looked for a user group but they all seem to be old links

Yeah, we're a dying breed for sure.  SWAUG was still going last time I looked, ashamed to say I'm not a member or anything though.

Blimey!!!  That many active Amiga users in South Wales - for the record I'm another one from near Ammanford.

I checked the SWAUG site for help before finding this one but it appears to either be down or gone completely.
