Dreamcast petition on-line (amiga owners loves DC...)
« on: May 14, 2003, 10:56:40 PM »
Well..

Dreamcast is doomed because of SEGA, but that dosent mean that we inside the Amiga community cannot help other good communities like Dreamcast.

I've set up a Vote, tougether with a friend, to find out how many wich wants the beloved Dreamcast back into production or something else.

Enter the petition here:!
http://www.PetitionOnline.com/HelpDC/petition.html

----
To:  Dreamcast users

We want Dreamcast back! Thats our goal. Do you?

Dreamcast came out as worlds first 128bit console! Its the console with superb gfx quality and more. Sega stopped Dreamcast, when it started to really take off. This is a shame and we want Dreamcast to either return as a Sega console, or in some other form.

Dont forget that Dreamcast got good titles, like Sonic Adventures, Shenmue, Virtua Tennis, Metropolis Street Racer, Skies Of Arcardia and more! It gives a crystal picture quality and its 3D engine must be seen to believe. It even passes lots of Playstation 2, GameCube and X-box titles today. These consoles have good 3D power and all that, but the picture is soo smooth and blurred. Users of Dreamcast loves its crystal picture.

Programmers described Dreamcast as the revolution in game development, while the marked didnt believed it and didnt help the console, but the community is here! We want to say that Dreamcast should return!

This petition is about to get Dreamcast back into production, or maybe a Dreamcast II... Do you love animegames, bigtitles and more. Vote!

 Sincerely,
AmiDelf and BakaBox

I *do* love my DC (playin the NES version of MGS righ now on my emulator bootdisk) but come on...

Any guy can buy some righs from SEGA  to manufacture it again, I'm sure.... Some are still issuing HWare 4 it in JP...

This adventure ended in the sadest possible way, granted. :boohoo: Oh well, I'll sign the damn thing...

good...

Dreamcast is a console, and dont last as long as the Amiga spirit.

But the technology inside an Dreamcast is superb, and even today its better in some areas than gamecube, ps2 and x-box

thanks for voting.. come on people, vote

Well there is no way it can hold up against a Game Cube or XBOX as far as poly count and special effects go (bump map lighting), but when it comes to the PS2, it holds its ground for sure, infact it still surpasses the PS2 in many ways, just look at the video ram and compression. PS2 has little and none!! ha ha ha

I still hang out on dcemulation.com and though I have a modded XBOX, my Dreamcast never has a chance to collect dust. :)

Would be nice to see Amiga OS 5 running on it some day like they did at the shows...

A $35 Amiga would be great! :)

P.S. In case you missed my other post...

...a Giana Sisters sequal is in the works for the Dreamcast as a non-commercial game. :)

YES!

Dreamcast was a really awsome console. I still have my dreamcast and im currently trying to burn the leaked version of BLEEMCAST(Blue Version).  It was leaked sometime in January of 2003!!!!  Dreamcast is the console I have seen that you can really develope for. I got the coders cable that connects your dreamcast via serial. I want a broadband adapter so I can xfer up to 1mb/sec, then coding would be ALOT funner! JOY! Dreamcast should live! :-D

I have posted this in dcemulatin.com for you.

redrumloa: you do realize that only about 5 games or so actually made use of the built in WinCE don't you? It is not the only way to go when coding for the DC. :)

Thanx. Oki, I might be an Amiga fan, but when it comes to games, before Dreamcast came. I really loved playing Amiga games and SNES.

Dreamcast should get a new chance. SEGA promoted to little here in Europe and the big titles like Shenmue, Sonic and Skies Of Arcardia didnt even have commercials on tv here in Norway.

I think that... The thing with Dreamcast, is that the games .. allmost all of the games for Dreamcast is for young-adults. There arent many games for kids for Dreamcast. No child would love Sonic Adventures for example, as it contains thinking, RPG elements and more.

I wish DC returned. Here is a picture of my baby:

Taken with my Samsung Digimax 210 camera!

Spread the word about this vote. It will last until September, so we can show that there is interest in this superb console.

It would be nice to see a new custom based Amiga, with Dreamcast technology built-in :) It reminds me a bit on Amiga :)

the GPU dreamcast used 'Kryo' with TBR(tile based rendering) engine is pretty much discontinued... its really a dream now... sad it didnt make it...but I cant say I care... Sega always screwed users.. first with Sega CD then with Sega Saturn then with Dreamcast... one junkbox after another while the PS1/N64 kicked ass... petition Nintendo to allow MOS on their system...this petiton is useless..

Sega screwed users? Well ya they did not market there stuff very well (amiga cough cough), but they never lied to there customers either. Before the DC was released they announced the system specs, unlike Sony and the Sony 2 where the specs were way higher than the PS2 could ever dreamc of reaching, Sega set there specs way below what the DC was capable of. When they decided to pull the plug on the DC, they let everyone know. Hell even when piracy began to run rampant they did not blame it for the the DC's downfall, rather they were realistic and took the blame to themselves and wrote an honest article about how piract does not even begin to put a dent in the market.

I dunno about you, but the only thing I can honestly say I have ever hated about sega is there present actions...

...writing all those great sequals I have been wating for ever for on the PS2 only! :/ Now that pisses me off.

Sega CD... ya it failed but damn if Working Designs did not put out some awsome titles for that little puppy!

 Lunar
 Lunar 2
 Popful Mail
 Vay
 Heimdall
ect...

 Thankx again Sega! :)

Here here.   If you want lies, look at the Atari Jaguar.  I still remember the tripe Atari put out about the Playstation being only "a little" more powerful than the Jaguar.  Not to mention the whole 64-bit vs 32-bit thing.  Of course, Jaguar games were crap, anyway.  Even used and dirt cheap, Trever McFur and Checkered Flag were horrible.  I bought the Jaguar JUST for Tempest 2000.

Dreamcast was/is an excellent system.    The graphics are sharp, unlike the chunky look of early PS2 games.  The audio engine is excellent.  Load times are quick.  The machine is built like a tank, and is dead silent.  I own both a DC and a PS2, and I still think my Dreamcast wins, overall.  PS2 games are just way to inconsistent in quality.  Oh, and don't get me started about reliability.  XBox and PS2 have both been notorious, to the point where I hardly see a working store display, anymore.

And, hey, $200!  I dread the day when "popular" consoles start going to $350 or more.

Well, I think the Dc is a GREAT console, better than the awfull PS2, there's no doubt.

I think, in many ways, the DC is the AMiGA of the consoles, great machine pushed down by the owner.
