A1200 Keyboard repair.
« on: May 14, 2003, 09:26:54 PM »
Hey,
Does anyone know how I can fix my keyboard.  I took it apart to try to clean out all of the dust and clean it from years of buildup of dirt. When I moved the green plasic to clean around it, I placed it back in, and then after I did that, I put everything back together. Now, when I use the LEFT-SHIFT key, it wont work unless I press it down REALLY hard. Anyone know a solution to fix this so the next time I reopen it, it wont mess up even worse? Thanks

Mine!  :-D

;-) Check that the contact area on the circuit board is clean.  Alcohol works well.  Also check the surface of the conductive rubbery pad that is supposed to touch the circuit board whenever you press the key.  A bit of foreign matter may have gotten in as you were reassembling the keyboard.
