Edit- and as big as the PowerTower at least.

I like the idea of removable side panel. I would like to see
a bigger tower, as well. Not just more clearance between bays
but more bays...

@Boot WB: Well, my 'ideal' for the color-changing LED idea,
was a transparent Boing ball type badge, the color-changing
LED in the center for HD activity, maybe a ring around it,
for power LED. I just would like a tower that could not be
mistaken for anything but an Amiga :)

1) I would like to see a tower with 7x 5.25" drive bays to accomodate every unit on a SCSI ID chain, 4x 3.5" drive bays to accomodate DF0: DF1: DF2: DF3: (was there a DF4: option?)...

2) SCSI ID front panel selection with termination lights

3) Easy front/side access for A1200 PCMCIA port

4) Silent heatpipe/liquid cooling technology

5) A range of 3.5"/5.25" facias with embossed 'old skool' 'AMIGA' logo

6) Front access to 2x joypad ports with mouse/joystick switcher

7) Front mounted CVBS/S-Video in socket for displaying video etc. on Workbench or genlocking

8) Key lock like on big box Amigas (disabling PSU/Key/Mouse)

9) Headphone jack

10) Thumb-print security pad (HP make them right?)

:-D

If you're really hot for the biometric security, there are a number of el-cheapo USB mice incorporating the hardware now.

I'm not really in the market, but regarding price --- perhaps an insert could be developed to fit some commonly-available ATX case with a full slide-out mainboard tray?  Then only the custom component needs to be shipped, and people can track down the commodity bit at market-rate (and petition the manufacturer to keep them in the channel, I suppose).

For those who desire it, a ghetto color-change effect can be accomplished simply by placing independent LEDs aimed into the same acrylic light-pipe; seen this inadvertently on some generic PCs of late, and if you interleaved an array of, say, green 'power' LEDs with amber 'HD' ones, you could get a dramatic effect.

I suppose there's also the external PSU, bolts-to-a-VESA-mount idea, wherein at this point the display just might be able to hold up the computer.  Not really sure how that works out physically with an expanded 1200, but it might be interesting to just mount the board and busboards open-air there, then use rounded cables into drive enclosures and the like.

Since it's not very uncommon for our machines to have more than 1 HDD controller I'd like to see a 2 colored led for HDD activity and a way so we can connect it to both our IDE and SCSI controllers (I know... I also have a third controller in my A4000 and would like to have it connected aswell but we have to be resonable in our wishes no?).

I find it interesting how many people have mentioned that they want the cases to be bigger. While the D-Box tower is great, I think it is actually too big. I love the design of the IBM Netvistas, and the more recent ThinkCenters, which have the drives suspended over the top of the motherboard and hinged at the front of the case. They flip up and out of the case very easily when you need to access the motherboard, and because they overlap the motherboard the case is very compact. I was even considering getting an old NetVista and hacking it to bits for my A1200 :-)
