Installing mui using winuae and OS3.9

HI all

Ok i am having a problem install mui3.8 i keep on getting an error.

COPYLIB: Can`t open file "" in line 299
DOS ERROR TYPE: unable to locate a file or drawer

I have no idea what this means anyone know away around this just need it installed so i can use jabberwocky.

It's because of the smiley face icon I think. Sounds like you are using a Windows folder for your WinUAE hard drive. The Windows filesystem can't handle the character used in the smiley face icon's filename, so WinUAE can't find it. You will need to extract the MUI archive in to a WinUAE hardfile, or maybe in to RAM, and install from there.

Thank you for such a face reply but i have tryed that and i still get the same error, i have had this problem for sometime and i have always gave up but i am not going to give up this time.

So you have already tried installing from _and_ to a hardfile?

You don't need a hardfile, WinUAE handles non-Windows file names internally. Just make sure you use AmigaOS utilities to unpack the LhA archive, don't use WinRAR or similar.

If you use UnArc, you also have to make sure to have Boinbag 1 installed because the first version of UnArc cannot handle file names with spaces, either. Better use the original LhA program to unpack the archive.

Thank you so much i have it working now which is ace. Just need 1 more bit of help if you dont mind. I have after the textinput.mcc lib and vapor_toolkit lib, i have looked on aminet and can not find it.
