If you're going to try to sell it, I'd list it as:

*Commodore Amiga 1200
*Extra external disk drive
*Extra 130MB HD ('Seagate Model ST3144A')
(Explaining that this is external, and not in a case - I wouldn't be happy if I bought a computer and found a hard disk hanging out the back in an anti-static bag!)

*Internal HD
(Double-check this first. Just because you have DH1 and DH2 it doesn't mean you have 2 hard disks - it could just be partitioned. There's probably a command that identifies how many devices you have attached to the internal IDE interface.)

*Clock/Battery pack
*Chip Memory: 2MB
*Fast Memory: 1MB via trapdoor slot
*Fast memory can be expanded to 8MB.

I've think I've found your memory expansion here, you might want to confirm if adding more than 4MB will cause problems with the PCMCIA slot (as reddwarfer has indicated.) Google should help there. If it will cause problems, remember to mention it if you advertise it  :-)

Just the info I need maffoo, thank you - and the memory expansion you identified looks identical to mine.

I just now need to find out if I have a HD inside the Amiga - reddwarfer - the 'info' command didn't seem to work?!

Cheers all!!!!! =o)

hey why don't you just ask if somebody HERE want to buy this unit?  Ppl are always asking and eBay can be a cold place.  We have helped you, consider giving it back to the community. Not to mention you won;t have to PAY eBay to list the thing?
idea!  Also consider amiBench, it's "cooler" than eBay..
( I actualy like eBay..., but think it cooler to find a local needy amiag.org user!)

Edit:

Maybe you're right Pierre...

Can't just shake off the feeling that he's flattering people here while not being really interested in the matter anymore. That's fine but just say so.

Well, I say worked on PD software, I was fluent with Amigas generally but a total beginner to writing anything, only made slideshows and compilations to be honest.

I'm not flattering anyone, just so far behind now and coming from a point of ignorance. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED my Amiga and had to have it ripped away from me! I'm just back from a year working in Hong Kong, am in between jobs, plus living out of a suitcase for a year made me somewhat anti-materlistic & unnostalgic - hence the ruthless clearout.

I've always presumed I'd dig out my Amiga and Atari to tinkle around with, but having asked myself if I'd ever get round to it, i realise not.... Anyway, I'm genuinely overwhelmed with the helpful responses - cheers all =o)

I'll probably stick it on ebay to get the best price, although annoyingly I've just thrown out loads of Amiga Format/Power magazines which you guys could've just had.

however, I'm likely to throw out all the cracked disks - hundreds of them, if anyone wants!? I live in Walsall, near Brum or could buyer could pay P&P. also, I'll be sure to offer the few boxed games I have on here after I return from Spain early September.

but the fact that i don't know its value is why i'm putting it on ebay, i wouldn't know what to ask!

anyone any ideas on how I can find out if I have 2 HDs or just 1 partitioned HD - the 'info' command doesn't seems to want to work for me =o)

Open your Workbench folder, go to the Tools drawer and run HDToolBox. It will show info on all your drives.

what it worth to you?  Since you can get a refurbished system with some extras (more RAM I think.....) form amigakit for about $160 should have an idea by now.... you will be cheaper than that.  Since there are so many cool folks here WHO HAVE HELPED YOU, you could be cool and give to to somebody who realy realy wants it and maybe can't pay top $$$.  Since you have compleatly forgot how to work this thing I doubt you would miss it that much... karma is cool ... what come around goes around!
peace!
Pierre

Cheers Mororollin - i'll give that a try.

pierre - a year ago i certainly would, and i've passed on old systems previously - however, when you're not long out of Uni, unemployed and £2000 into your bank overdraft, i can't not try it on ebay! Like i say though, i'll endeavor to put some original software up here for free as the computer will be big/heavy enough to put in the post.

@mod83

Best thing you can do is go to ebay and check out all the other A1200's for sale and gauge a price on those that you would be happy with yourself. The thing about ebay it's unpredictable and like what pierre said "it might go low....and run long... " then on the other hand it might go high and  run short! who knows but there's only one way to find out and you can always put a reserve on the item for the minimum you want to except. You wont know until you try! :-)

Morphos 2.6, mini mac g4 @ 1.25ghz.

@mod83

Before you throw anything out, upload those programs you made to Aminet. After that, don't throw anything out!

@pierre

Most people on ebay buying amiga gear don't know anything about  AmigaKit.
