My birthday : retrogamers and amigafan lunch in Paris
« on: August 16, 2006, 11:29:42 AM »
Hi Folks,
For my birthday, this Saturday 19th, with the MO5.com association, we organise a retrogamers and amigafan lunch at 12'00 in Paris France, close to Gare St Lazare, at the " bistro romain". And maybe a visit to the MO5.com private museum.
If some would join us, send me a mail quickly to reserve.
 :-D

Sorry, it's the same date as the famous annual purelamers bbq in east of Haute-Saône (north east of France ;-)

Happy birthday CLS2086 !

What foods are there at a french bbq? In the USA, french food is pretty much frogs and snails, raw pigeons and something covered in weird sauce. Is that pretty much the size of it or did you guys just trick the american restaurant scene into serving icky stuff for high prices and are really secretly eating like chickens and cows?

You surely can't overlook French cheese? Or is it just the pre-processed plasticky stuff they sell in the States??!  :-D

And there's nothing wrong with snails, especially if they're garlic-tastic!

Happy Birthday!

That happens to be my Son's and Grandson's birthday too.  In fact they don't just share the same day, they share the exact time of day, 1:13pm exactly 23 years apart and I am 23 years older than my son.  Wild coincidence, don't you think.

Have a drink and lift your glasses to Amiga users all over the world who will be wishing you their best on your Birthday.

What a great community we are part of.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

Over here American food is just too much you can eat and always with ketchup.

@weirdami :
For a usual bbq, we use :
chips, merguez, steaks, chipolata, taboulé, salads,melon, water melons, ham, chiken, fish, beers, soda, wines, cheese, cakes,…   ;-)

I never yet eat frog. And I haven't eat snail since i'm 5...
These kind of food are hard and long to prepare, people don't really have time to prepare that. It's also hard to find that in supermarket, and if you find these they are rarely good... :-?

Sorry to break your dreams  :lol:

@weirdami

Just you know Europe is not a theme park. We have cars and stuff... We don't ride donkeys anymore :lol:

Always cracks me up how Americans perceive Europe.

We don't eat snails and frogs, and don't ride donkeys either, but I just wanted to say that the guy from the Washington Post Magazine was right: in France we are used to do nothing else than just sitting outside at a cafe. That's what i am going to do right now.

@CLS2086: my dear fellow amigaimpact member, i am so sorry that, just like the past year, i can't be at your amiga party because of a non comprehensive woman. Not the same woman than last year's though ;-) Happy birthday!
