Forcing scsi.device 40.12 detect the undetectable
« on: August 01, 2006, 04:01:17 AM »
BOO!!  The PQI 4GB CF card works perfectly in the PCMCIA-CF adapter formatted with FAT32.  But trying to get it installed into the Amiga 1200 looks grim.

I tried to use my A4000D with an IDE-CF adapter (previously working fine with a 512MB CF, and tested again with a 2MB CF for good measure.)  HDToolBox detection causes the system to lock up.  If I connect it to the XSurf 3cc IDE port, HDToolBox doesn't lock up, but it can't be detected.

If I pull the XSurf, remove XSurf IDE from Expansions, and allow the scsi.device update from SetPatch, the system locks up on reboot.

BOO!  So, how can I get scsi.device to see this unit?  I have similar problems with some hard drives.  WAH!  I wanna make this work :-)

Well, even more fun.  scsi.device 43.35 on the A1200 detected the 4GB CF card just fine.  I'm definitely not complaining, but I am interested at the same time in the differences in the IDE subsystems of the A4000 and the A1200.  Any ideas?
