Marpet Developments MP500B
« on: July 20, 2006, 10:27:00 PM »
Hi.

I have two of these MP500B RAM expansions for the A500/+. I was just wondering if anyone knows how much they are worth because I was thinking of selling one of them.

It has 512kb of ram on it made up of 4 32 pin SIMMs (I think).

Thanks
Steve

8-10 UKP

They are one of the worst A500 memory upgrade. The simms + sockets etc make them too heavy and they can end up bending the pins etc.

Perhaps a bit more if you have the RTC addons.

Stick it on ebay and find out. There are no A500 ram expansions on ebay uk at the moment so it would be a good time.

bye

I'd have though that it would have been OK if the trapdoor cover was on.

What are the RTC addons?

I know RTC is real time clock, but I don't see what it has to  do with this card.

well its just nice to have an RTC in the computer.

And it is probalby an inexpensive option to add one, so why not just add one?

As far as I know, this card has nothing to do with clocks. IOt has the slot to plug it into the amiga and 4 memory slots.

I havn't needed an RTC expansion though as I have used these cards on an A500+.

My apologies I was getting confused with their A600 RAM (M604A) card where the RTC is a plugon board.
