MorphOS: The Lightning OS

Hum,

I think this will be the most asked question among all readers of this article. It's likely that you never heard this name - MorphOS - before in your life, but it is extremely likely that you heard another name: Amiga. In this introduction it is enough to say that MorphOS is currently an enhanced clone of the AmigaOS (the Historical Notes section explores the details of this connection).

meh, yeah interesting choice of words but not inaccurate. I didn't read the whole article, but on the surface it seems to be generally correct. Unfortunately only a clone and not "teh true" amiga is available for a long time.
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

That article has to rank as one of the best pieces of computer journalism I have read in a long time.  Well thought out, accurate, and informative.  Judging by the comments on OSNews, many people seem to have the same opinion.

MorphOS is not a simple clone of AmigaOS: it already embodies a large number of enhancements, most of which are not immediately visible to the unaware user.

I'm glad they pointed that out.  It always grates with me when people call MOS an AmigaOS clone. MorphOS is a new, modern OS, which has it's roots in the Amiga platform and adheres to the same principles.  And hopefully it has a bright future ahead of it, carrying on where the Amiga left off.

I don't read OSNews normally so thanks for pointing this article out.
