mountain bike parts
« on: July 16, 2006, 11:48:10 PM »
I seem to  recall there being a fair few mountain bikers on the forum. Can anyone recommend a decent place online to buy parts? I new a crank/chainset and most likely bottom bracket to go with it, preferrably as cheap as possible since im not doing any serious riding. One of my pedals came off today and stripped the thread right off the crank in the process today  :-(

Yikes. That took some doing! Obviously the crank had developed a spot of metal fatigue or something...

That said, I cannot help you out, as I only know Dutch retailers and you're likely to get cheaper components in your own country. If you're from the UK (Isle of Rockall...??), PMC is the guy to talk to.

Hum,
Alpine bikes

Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative

You can probably just get away with buying one crank arm (make sure its the same length) and a pair of £5 pedals.
