MUI colourmapping is driving me crazy!

MUI is great, but MUI colourmapping is incredibly stupid. You can't just use all available colours for buttons and images. It remaps to certain fixed colours.

According to the MUI ImageDesign IFF, you can use Text, Shine, Shadow, Fill, etc. pens for brushes and I have remapped to these limited colours when designing MUI elements. It also shows "Brown" and "Neon" (maximum 8 system colours plus "Brown" and "Neon" available).

So... all I want to do is use "Brown" in a radio button. I have a brown in my palette, but no matter which pen I map the image to, it never uses brown. Does anybody know how I can do it? Or is there a way to force MUI to use other colours in the palette?

Also, I'm trying to figure out why slider background images are always centred corectly, but button background images annoyingly depend on screen position (as if background already tiled across screen). This makes consistent buttons impossible!

Nobody?

Another question - does anybody know how to create or edit custom MUI scrollbars? They're not plain images like the other MUI elements.
