A1200 boots, but shows only white screen??
« on: June 30, 2006, 07:28:01 PM »
I'm in tears, just took my stock PAL A1200/KS3.0 out of storage, popped in a CF->IDE adaptor and a 512mb CF card and a 3COM Etherlink III in the pcmcia port, turned it on and only got a white screen rather than the usual kickstart screen. It was "tasting" for a disk in the drive every couple of seconds as normal, so popped in a bootable floppy and it looked and sounded as if booting.

Thought it was strange, so unhooked the CF adaptor and network card, still a white screen but boot.

I hooked it up to my tv via a scart from the monitor port, same cable as I used with it years ago. The pins don't look corroded or anything on the cable or in the amiga.

Any ideas, please? Is it a brick?

I would start by unseating and reseating the ROMs.
