Formatting A1200 HD at the whole capacity! Help

hi,

I got an internal HD for my A1200 of 60GB but when
I try to format or partitioning the drive in order to install OS3.9 the toolbox or the OS installation disks of the OS 3.1 tells me I only have 40 MB!

Can anybody help me please??????

3.9 it says it needs 20 MB to install OS3.9 while
you have only ""Kbytes free. And the computer resrart
again!!!!!

The old HDToolBox always reports large disk sizes wrong. Ignore that.

Add the partition like you would normally (remember the system partition must remain <4GB area). Then continue to install 3.9. Once the AOS 3.9 is installed and running, you can add partition(s) to cover the rest of the disk.

Do NOT attempt to access any partitions >4GB area unless if you're under OS 3.9. Always quick format the partitions, never do full format.

Nothing stopping him doing a FULL format, he'll die of old age before it finishes thats all :)

Yes, but not because the formatting needs so long but because he ends up in an endless loop. Fully formatting partitions above the 4GB border without the latest Format program will destroy the partition table, so he has to start from scratch again. And if he does not stop doing FULL formatting, he will do it again and again and again until infinity.

The boot partition should be smaller than 2GB. Everything above 2GB will give you such strange messages.

hi !i have to the same problem.but when i buy the fast ata ide
 all of my disks formated in full size 40gb and 80 gb!extremely fast also!!bye :crazy:  :crazy:  :crazy:
