Hardware Sucks!

Hello! If I use my monitor with my amiga more than half hour of work and resets it, the computer isn't boot up. If I disconnect the monitor and reset it again the amiga starts. If I use of my friend's monitor the error isn't come out.
Hardware: A1200 Blizzard1230/30 16MB+Mitsubishi Monitor
Please Help Me!!

Hi Dicky,
Do you mean the A1200 is OK with a different monitor ?  How does your monitor connect to the A1200 ? Do you have a scan doubler or a flicker fixer or anything else ? Does your friends monitor connect in a different way ?

Thanks for your answer!

The monitor connected to the same way as usual, and I dont have any flicker fixer. It can use the 15-24-30khz. It's an old one but perfect monitor. It makes this error since few months.  I was use it for years before..... I don't understand, but no one else.
At the monitor service the problem not appears, coz they don't have an AMIGA. He-He!

1--Sometimes when attempting to adjust a screenmode in P96,
the created modes confuse the monitor so badly that I can't get
it to go back to the proper WB display without turning the
monitor off.  Could your problem be similar?  Perhaps you are
in a mode that is at the edge of your monitor's capability.
Admittedly, it sounds like you don't use a graphics card.

2--With one of the DCE scan doubler/flicker fixers, I had
difficulty rebooting (sometimes initially booting ) the machine.
It seemed to be due to the adapter on the Lisa (?) chip not
fitting tightly.

Just a warning to all of you:

DO NOT PLUG OUT THE MONITOR WHILE THE MACHINE IS STILL RUNNING

I tried this once and it resulted in my PC-KEY interface to burn! Luckly there wasn't any further damage done...

I know it's a bit stupid of me to do so, but if you're stressed and just want the stuff to work you could -by accident, do this...

Stupid me though:-P

You are not somehow low on power? The idea that your monitor should eat at your psu is a bit strange, but it could sound like a psu effect problem.

I know I had one with my a1200 until I switched to a goliath psu.

Hi,

I have a quad monitor system, one monitor is
a Microvitec Msync connected to the old video
out on an A4000.
The system will not boot when this monitor is not powered
but still connected.

Is your monitor powered up when you try to boot up ?
Has it gone into power save mode while re booting (same as off) ?

No, If I use other monitor on the same connection, the problem not appears.

On the Mitsubishi it appears on even pal or dblpal screemode too.

Turn on the machine, use it about an hour, presses CTRL+A+A and the computer resets, but not starts to load the WB. If I disconnect the monitor and press again CTRL+A+A the computer starts to boot. If I connect the monitor right after then, I can use it again until the next reset.

I'm only familiar with Commodore Amiga models, but from a logic point of view it seems that there's something wrong with your monitor or so ...
