Hullo *wave*
« on: June 25, 2006, 09:27:23 PM »
Hi, um, I guess I might as well drop in an introduction, seeing as how I'm already crying for help on the hardware forum.

*ahem*

My name's Chris, and I've been a reasonably proud Amiga owner since 1991.  The first Amiga I owned (parents subsidizing half) was an A500.  I saved and saved and saved, and by late 1994 had picked up an A1200 (still owned, in the process of resuscitation).

I was mostly a gamer (surprise), but also noodled around with DPaint, Brilliance, Digi-Paint (I would _kill_ for "redo" in Photoshop), and Photogenics. I _tried_ to noodle around with Imagine, but never got very far.

I stuck it out with Amy until 1998 in grad school, when I got to the point where I needed to run Photoshop and be able to share files with *ick* Word and Excel.  I swallowed my pride and bought a cheap Mac (after seeing the state of Windows 95 at that time).

Currently, my workhorse machine is a Power Mac G5 (Photoshop work, video noodling), which is networked to a Power Mac G4, G3 (boring beige, not cool blue & white), and a *bleh* Dell clone (I had to play Half-Life 2 _somehow_).  A Mac SE with hard drive is parked in another room (Lode Runner!), and I'm in the process of getting a new hard drive and ethernet card set up for the A1200 to talk to the rest of the "family".

Um *shuffle*, not much else to say I guess...  I'm basically here to get questions answered regarding my A1200.

Chris

Use whatever works that's what I say ;)

I've got Macs, PCs and Amigas. They've all got their fun parts.

Welcome ;)
