SCSI on Apollo 2030 Turbo
« on: June 24, 2006, 12:04:39 PM »
I'm trying to connect SCSI HDD to Apollo 2030 Turbo, but A2000 refuses to boot, black screen only. If I disable SCSI by removing jumper, Amiga boots, but I'd like to use onboard SCSI module. The card has 32Mb RAM and only three jumpers: RAM, SCSI and FPU. I'm using a HDD that worked on Oktagon 2008 nicely. What could be the cause?
BTW, A2000 is rev 6., ROM 3.1

Just forget about it alltogether.
Unless you are skilled in VooDoo and have the phonenumer of the guy that assembled your Harddrive at hand there is next to no chance of getting it to work.

Even if you get it to work it will be quite slow, as the card does not have an SCSI chip, but only a MACH that is programmed to mimic SCSI as good as possible. You`ll be better off with the Oktagon anyway.
Not really interesting, but it`s there.

oh well, such is life
thanks, this saves me from a lot of time wasting and losing nerves.

guess I'll have to use Oktagon. (I was hoping to get some speed increase with apollo scsi and simpler system)
