Very Sad Day for Me
« on: June 24, 2006, 04:14:40 AM »
Today has been very rough for me and though this post is not really Amiga related, I just needed to vent a bit -- please forgive me.

My cat, Peeper, who was but seven years old (that translates into human years of 45 IIRC), had been feeling ill for nearly all this week.  We finally decided to take her to the vet and found our worst fears realized... her kidneys had failed completely and if left unchecked, she would have died a VERY painful death and we would have never even known it.

Long story short, we could not bear to have her suffer and there was nothing that medicine could do to reverse the damage, so we made the painful decision to have her put down.  Thus Today has been very hard for me because I raised this cat from a kitten and she indeed was like my child.

She will be missed very much.

Im very sorry about your loss.

I think once you feel better , put your Peeper up on your desktop if you have a picture to cheer you up.

:-(

It is always difficult to lose a pet, but it's good that she did not suffer.

Sorry about your loss, that must have been gut wrenching. Our dog and cat are both getting on in years and we're starting to realize every day is special with them.

Try to take some comfort in the fact that its clear Peeper was a well loved animal, and I'm sure she had a good and happy life with you and your family.

It seems like a lot of us love our cats.

Best wishes.

 I know no word can tranquillize your pain now. Just know there is a friend who greets your Peeper in heaven. She's not alone, don't worry.

Hi irishmike

i feel very sorry for you and i understand your sytuation, having "lost" 7 of them in the ~15 years of theyr lifespan (quite all due cancer or problems to the digestive apparatus)

We (as my family and our veterinary(sp)) have done some research about the food they have eaten along theyr (i have to say very happy) life. There are serious doubts about "some" pets commercial food ....argh!

Never more another pet.... at least from my side :-(

I feel sorry for you too. We too just lost our kitten that we had before the start of the month. During this month she would have been a year old. She was a very special little cat as she would have a very picky attitude. She wouldn't let anyone near her unless SHE wanted they attention, and she would flip on you in a moments notice. There were many things about here, but we lost her when we found out that I guess she was born with the FLV (feline leukemia virus), and it was hard.

Living with my mom and dad, my mom has had many , many, many animals during my life span and I've endured many deaths of animals, and for some reason, I can still remember every single one of them, as they were literally a member of our family.

Take comfort that she didn't suffer, because the pain of watching her wilt away would have been excruciating. She is still loved, and will be missed. Just keep a few pictures around, and many years later you will still remember all those moments like yesterday.

Cats are the perfect incarnation of what i think a pet should be.

They are not "slave" of anything/anybody. They gives theyr love only to whom deserve it.

Don't get me wrong.... i have had many dogs as well.but cats, are just "cats" :-)

ahhh! forgot to mention.... all that "band" in a flat :-/

I never cry (even for my lost parents/friends and unfortunately a partner as well) but the latest time it was for one of them.

EDIT- irishmike apologize for this demi-hijacking
