I guess PG has the original MACH chip binary so that he can make more?

Hi alexh!

(Btw, thanks for your many interesting posts regarding technical issues on amiga.org and other sites.. :-)

No, i dont have the binary, i think it would cost a small fortune to buy them from the developer.. :-)
The PLD:s are protected and impossible to read with a eprom programmer, if anyone are tempted to try.
However, im in touch with a person who knows the developer so im buying the PLD:s already programmed.
So it is 100% original and legal chips im selling.. :-)
I also have the firmware(s) for the eprom.
The firmware is different for the Apollo 1240, 1260 and 1260LC.

It might be worth asking the developer if they were capable of doing a new version with increased RAM capability?

I doubt that they are.

The PLD's you are buying are probably NOS (New old stock) and were actually programmed many years ago (but I may be wrong.)

How much would you be prepared to pay?

Would you consider POSTING your valuable A1260 away to be upgraded? (This may be required if enough Address lines do not go between the SIMM socket, MACH chip and CPU)

Thanks

The people involved are VERY busy (it has taken me four months to get this far..) so im sure there are no chanse for a new memory interface.
It would have been nice, though..
Im not sure if the PLD is the only bottleneck (im a service technician, not a developer), it could be other hardware limits?
