@Savan

Try reading the posting guidelines mate.

Personal attacks and insults are neither constructive, nor within said guidelines.

Criticise and doubt the project, but keep your insults to yourself.

IMHO.
Mac Mini G4 (1.5GHz, 64MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.6
Powerbook 5.8 (15", 1.67GHz, 128MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.8.

Windows-free since 2011-2014 (Damn you Netflix!)

It's true that out of all his announcements, not a single event took place.
But still this isn't a reason for personal attacks. Call it a hoax or whatever you prefer, but don't insult him on some personal issues.

That guy deserves everything he gets, he constantly makes announcements which every single one has turned out to be a lie. He has been poking fun out of Amiga users for a while with his hoax, sadly he has now an excuse to leave the scene as a hero rather than the fraud he is.

That's a bit harsh, isn't it? Truth is, no one can prove he's lying. Equally true, however, is that no one can prove he isn't.

I *personally* have no doubts that he is developing hardware, given his reputation as a reliable A1 dealer. However, I am concerned that his projects may end up like the BoXeR: designed, prototyped, but never finished. He said in the IRC log that he tends to get obsessively involved with bug crushing - I'm hoping that's the cause for delay.

Come on, the whole thing really sounds like "the dog ate my homework". Theoretically possible, but how likely is it ??
So the reactions are everything else then strange.
Not really interesting, but it`s there.

well I understand the frustration with all the pre-announcements...but I have a great solution to that one...stop following them.

As a matter of fact, this thread announcing the failure of the project...is the first I've heard of the project, so I'm in no way disappointed.

But also, along that same line of thinking, if someone made me guess, I would say this project was always some nerds pipe dream.

Thats not personal, because I know nothing about the person, or the project...its a guess based upon the many projects we've seen.  Announce a project, and you'll be a celebrity for a little while.

The fact is, it truly isn't this chancy, random, speculative or otherwise difficult to put out a project.   If you really had the chops to do it, you'd do it.  If you failed, its because you really weren't ever very serious or likely to do it...let it be a lesson to the next one...keep your pipe dreams to yourself.

I'm sorry to read about Adam's father and hope he is feeling better soon.

It's a shame things worked out the way they did but he's right, there are far more important things to worry about than some old computer system.

Sir,

I understand that you are -- for some unknown reason -- upset about this situation, but I'm inclined to agree with the few complaints that I've gotten that you have crossed the line into simple trolling and personal attacks.  Neither of which are acceptable.

I'm not suggesting you should just be blindly supportive, but if you have nothing nice to say, please consider saying it elsewhere.

Wow,

I have been with Amiga ever since I was 8 years old, and now 20 years old, and I have been around since all the hardware projects were announced, but still havent seen anything.

My, how come alot of you get hurt over the fact that hardware was not released. I am just gonna support someone for even trying to put thought into the Amiga at all.

Try to do something else besides to monitor the progress of a piece of hardware.  If the hardware comes out, it does. If not, then im sorry.

Give the guy a chance.  Not a big huge team of people are working on it.  And im sorry and hope his dad gets to feeling better.

Until then, enjoy the power of WinUAE.  :-)

@ackcontrols

Adam,

I hope your father recovers soon.  That's more important than downloading a few pictures to the net.

@rest of thread

I'll use Lemmink's comment because, IMHO, it is the kindest comment I have seen so far:

Come on guys, let's give the guy a break.  Life happens and sometimes things don't work out as planned.

I don't know Adam, but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I suspect he has more money and skin invested in this venture than any of us do.

even if the product was legit...

it would have been crippled by the A1's bus

My vote is still AoN (Amiga on Nintendo)...  It's PPC and it's cheap.
Wii for mii!

He already has. He has posted similar attacks on AW.net and moobunny and possibly on other forums too. I'm not sure that he's upset, his posts generally go along the lines of #### is a liar and a fraud and you are all stupid ####s for believing him. This is not just towards ACK, but others as well. It's all just repeditive and boring.

Hans

NOTE: Replace the #### parts with names/words of your own choice.

Well, i must agree that it is certainly odd that something bad always happens when the deadlines reaches. I think it is damn cruel to call him a {bleep} though, especially if this is true:
Quote
@Kronos

My father was admitted to the hospital yesterday, please be a bit patient as this is more important than anything else at the moment.

Adam

This could also explain why he was in such a bad mood to be affected by a simple remark from one user.

It would pretty damn sick of him if the issue about his father was just nothing more than a prank made against the amiga community.
If he did infact leave his project now, then i am 99% the whole thing is a hoax as well... No sane person would leave a project that they had invested loads of time on just due to some comment made by someone on a public forum.

This was suppsed to be an entirely new motherboard which has absolutely zero to do with the AmigaONE other than that they both use PPC as a cpu.
