World Cup 2006
« on: June 09, 2006, 07:56:14 AM »
I notice there's no thread on here yet, at least not one that's prominent. I'm really looking forward to it (despite being sick of all the hype and flag-waving already).

Best of luck to all supporters here on Amiga.org, I know quite a few of your teams will be playing
Australia, Netherlands, Germany, France, Sweden, USA, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, etc etc etc

Anyway, just to annoy the Scots ;-)....

@Wilse

Will you be hoping England lose all their games?

Yep, I'm fed up with all the flag waving by the mentally sub-normal* and the popular opinion that as we gifted the game to the world we automatically are favourites to win the cup - and the tournament proper hasn't even started yet!

However, if we do bring the trophy home I'll be very proud and writing to my MP campaigning for Sven to be given an honarary knighthood.

But saying that, my gut instinct is that Argentina/Germany will knock us out on penalties again...

There's always 2010. :pint:

(edit:* not referring to the fine folk here of course, unless you were piloting the blue Toyota with St Georges crosses which was driving right up my bum on the A11 yesterday)

Nicholas, its more of a tongue and cheek banter between two nations.

However England has brutalised and abused the welsh nation for hundreds of years, including banning the welsh language.

you talk of racist fools, theyre arent any BNP councillors in Wales or Scotland...

Sweden can't even beat Trinidad & Tobago.

Now that was a really frustrating game. And please mr coach, let Källström play from the start for once!
