Scala with widescreen LCD TV
« on: June 06, 2006, 08:50:07 PM »
I know that Scala can handle widescreen display resolutions. But I never used it. And I don't have such a TV yet. Does anybody have experience with Scala and a widescreen TV? I'm thinking of 1366 x 768 pixels.

Hi,
I never made ScalaMM400 work with anything else than AGA and ECS chipset. I tried with my Voodoo3 (CGX), no success.

Hmm, it probably does work, bu that resoltuion is probably only on a GVP Impact24 gfxCard/Frame buffer.

I never used it liek that though

on an AGA machine its limited to AGA up to 1220 x 480 I think

but that will look funny on the screen i think
CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...

in aga mode, you can set scala to 1472x566 256 colors with overscan to video. from system/user interface you can set the display format to 4x3 or 16x9. but i don't know if these setting work on a real widescreen tv. here with this resolution scala gaves me the error out of chip memory after i play a bit with some titles :-)

If i am going to have bugs on my system,
at least let me keep the latest versions.

Um.... Where?  I have never seen this capability in Amiga...as far as I know there is no choice to select 16:9 to 4:3
