Dual boot on the amiga one???
« on: November 12, 2002, 04:15:59 AM »
Will I be able to dual boot OS4 with PPClinux?
I'm not buying a A1 unless I know the answer to this.

Sorry for this post, but if I'm going to shell out the cash for this system I would love to be able to run MOL on it as well as OS4.

I think a 3 OS system like this would bring some life into the desktop PPC market.

@spihunter

Great question. For that matter, what's the story with the Pegasos in terms of Linux/MorphOS dual booting?

Dual booting with Linux and OS4 shouldn't be a problem.  At least that's the beef from the latest interview from ExtremeTech with Bill M.
I love the modern age world of this middle age crises America... all these SUVs driving around like there\\\'s gas to spare and then some.

Of course you will, the Teron boards have been running Linux ever since they were first designed.

Or are you saying there could be issues with a bootloader like yaboot being unable to pull up AmigaOS? Hm. I'd expect that to be solved, since also the "AmigaOne-ified" Terons distributed by Eyetech are bundled with a Linux distro.
Maybe it\\\'s still possible to save AmigaOS  :rtfm:......

Yes, I know the boards will run both OS's. I was just wondering if an exsiting bootloader would be able
to launch OS4.
