It will most certainly not run OS4, and I doubt it is a machine licensed by Amiga Inc, but don't know that for sure.

Nope it's not, just a generic x86 machine in a zero footprint case with AmigaOS runnning in emulation on it.

Also please fix your posting. The link fcuks up the entire page layout.

No it is not.. The machine itself is a standard intel pc.
The only thing that is similar is the looks... It wont run any AmigaOS at all, with the exception of under emulation.

The company that announced these seems to be gone as well..

The only computer capable of running OS4 as it is now, is the AmigaONE. There are 2 more that might run OS4 if they are released.. The amy05 from troika and the ack.

@Odin, is it nessisary to use that sort of language? its an honist mistake.

Cynkronyze, yes you can edit the link. to post a link properly  when in the reply/post screen there is a button located above the "SIZE" window that looks like a link in a chain, select that and paste the link you have in there and enter the one or two word text that you want to display like This
Amiga 2000HD Indivision ECS
Amiga 4000D towerised OS 3.1 and 3.9 on CF cards
Indivision AGA, Mediator 4000

You could be a bit nicer considering he is new to amiga.org.

I personally think this problem is a flaw that should be fixed in xoops anyways.

and thanks guys

some more questions .......

1)if get my hands. on a PowerPC 603e @ 160-240 MHz ,is it advisable to install it in the trap door expansion slot??? and will there be space to attach a fast memory and a graphics card in the same space . I always loved the idea of a keyboard+processor+memory+media drives all in one unit..i was thinking of rippng out the cooling fan of my old laptop and putting it into the miggy

2)is the shark hardware acelerator better than the power pc?

3)is there a USB edvice availible for the miggy 1200?

thanks guys

Some people do have desktop A1200 with PowerPC card and BVision 3D graphics card but it gets very hot in there so it may become instable.

2)is the shark hardware acelerator better than the power pc?

The Shark Accelerator is PowerPC - it's a G3/G4 Accelerator card for the Mac made by Sonnet which Elbox rebranded.  If you mean is it better than the BlizzardPPC then yes, theoretically, it is faster.  Except the SharkPPC was never released.

Yes there are a few - if you have a Mediator (PCI busboard) you can use the Spider USB, or if you want to leave your A1200 in the desktop case you can use the Subway.

Yes, it's possible to install a BPPC in the trapdoor slot, there is not many other places to install it. The BPPC has a slot for installing a BVisionPPC graphics card, and the BPPC can take 256 MB ram.

The only problem is heat and power issues, as airflow can be difficult to optain in a desktop A1200.

The Shark will most likely never be available, and you need a tower Amiga for that anyway.

As for USB, there is a Subway USB.

I am not sure about this, but i think it will be hard to fit it while at the same time keeping the casing on. I know you can fit a 68k accelrator easily, but i think it will be problematic for a ppc one.

The announced specs are indeed a whole lot better, but it has not been released yet and who knows if it will ever materialize.

Amigakit sells USB controllers: http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/

But anyways, if you want to run OS4, then i suggest you wait a bit until it has been released for real, so that you know it will work with your said ppc accelrator. And who knows, maybe a cheaper and much better ppc card/box has been released by then. The only one who have a classic a1200 with OS4 is some very few beta testers. So right now, the only platform supporting OS4 for end users is the AmigaONE. So if you want OS4 now, then you will to buy an AmigaONE by second hand.

Not for us regular mortals no. As i said in my previous post, it seems like OS4 for the a1200 is only avaliable for a few selected beta testers  :-( It does run fine on it, just not released yet for us regular peeps.
Hyperion say it will be released for the classic once the final version of OS4 is released.
